This question is regarding my Bakbeest.
Rebuilding "Bakbeest" (486 Intel Ninja)

A few weeks ago I bought an Intel DX4 (SK051, wt cache) CPU to replace the DX2 on my 486. Easy swap, as my board (Intel Ninja) only required to change the voltage from 5 to 3.3v.

Now the old DX2 was SL enhanced, featuring some energy settings. At least the label said, the cooler is glued onto it... But I have no reason not to trust that.

My motherboard has a jumper to set SL enhancement. It was toggled on with my DX2 and is still on with my dx4. I have not encountered trouble or instability in dos and win 3.11 (yet).

Does every Intel dx4 have SL enhancement? Or does this one have but not all? Or am I just lucky not to run into trouble yet, and should I turn it off?

Stuck at 10MHz...

Looks like all dx4 a are "&E" which as far as I know is SL enhanced ..

Please use the "quote" option if asking questions to what I write - it will really up the chances of me noticing 😀
