Hi, I am currently in the process of doing a Pentium 3 build. I am using a gateway workstation with the intel WS440BX motherboard - it has performed as well as any 440bx board and def seems to be from an era before OEM parts started being inferior to consumer facing parts. However, I have run into a problem - I want to run the PC speaker sound into the PC speaker input of my Sound Blaster 32 for capture purposes, but this motherboard does not have a pc speaker output. Instead of a PC speaker output the motherboard has a built in piezo buzzer.

So, I was wondering - would be possible (and unlikely to damage my equipment) to desolder the piezo buzzer and solder a cable in its place to run to the pc speaker input of the soundcard? The soldering is no issue, but I just want to see if this is likely to work at all or if extra components would be required between the motherboard and the soundcard input.

Thank you,
