hey,

since my PC-Chips M912 died for whatever reason I got this Biostar board. Sadly it is only Rev6 so it does not support AMD Enhanced CPUs according to this page ( https://www.elhvb.com/mobokive/archive/Biosta … R%201433uiv.htm / at least I did not get my AMD DX4-120 or 5x86-133 to work)

Regardless I have now problems with my "HD". I have tried several options : IDE DOM 8GB (which worked fine with my M912), IDE2CF (test with several 512MB and 2GB CF) and an old 400MB IDE HD. All with the result that with DOS 6.22 I am not able to format the drive. Bios recognize the drive but after I have created with fdsik the partition either the partition isn't shown after restart or format failed because of bad partition table. I tried for tests with and without LBA mode. I tried also 32bit setting.

My controller is a Quantum Design QD6580W which worked fine with my M912.

Thanks for any hints.

Hi

I had similar problem with my VLB IDE/MIO controller. Mine is different model TK 8237 (based on a chip UM8672F).
I described problem and solution here on vogons.
But I have very limited experience with 486 and VLB equipment to advise you something.
Good luck!

P.S. If you add photographs of your system into topic maybe someone will spot misconfiguration or something.
And it's better to describe here some your actions and used parts (CPU, RAM).
