Hi,

Has anyone flashed this motherboard, Gigabyte GA-686BX with the latest Bios, "F2a"?

I've downloaded a zip with these files from Gigabyte:

6bx.29
autoexec.bat
FLASH840.EXE

Would the procedure be, booting to dos with a startup disk, run autoexec.bat and follow the instructions?

Thanks for any help.

autoexec.bat is not needed to execute the flash840 program.

Just a floppy with boot sector + bios file + Flash840 program.

Before flashing your board, i would recommend to backup your old bios first. If anything goes wrong. Then your are be able to flash the old bios rom backup back to your motherboard.

~ At least it can do black and white~
