Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a pinout for my Nixdorf M35 PC.:
The serial port is DB25, but female, like a parallel port.

Does anybody know the pinout or if a simple gender change works?
I don't want to break the RS232, but I'd also like to use a serial mouse.

Best regards,
Jo22

Quick update. It could be that this serial port wasn't meant as an ordinary RS-232, but as an interface for special equipment.
The other Nixdorf PCs had such a special purpose 25 pin D-Sub connector, if I understand correctly. Not sure about this one, however.
I wished I had some RS-232 test plug with LEDs (a classicl RS-232 on PC has protective diodes against shorts).

You can trace the connections to MC1488/MC1489 (SN75188/SN75189) pair on motherboard.
These ICs were usually used for rs232 voltage conversion in computers of that period (before they were replaced by MAX232). This way you should be able to find RXD, TXD, etc 😉
