Hi,

My 486 PC power supply needs to be replaced. It’s a Astec SA201-3440 power supply. Has anyone had to replace an old AT power supply recently? I know Startech used to make quality new AT power supplies but they no longer sell them on their website. I’ve searched Google and found ATXPowerSupplies.com lists a replacement for my existing power supply, but I’ve heard these are real cheap.

Is there a way to use a new ATX Power supply rather easily?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I'd fix the old one, if you do not have soldering equipment or knowledge of SMPS operation then you could bring it to a qualified service technician for repair, those old AT PSUs do not lie around unfortunately.

Thanks for the suggestions! I’m really surprised that no one from the scene is addressing this issue. For the Commodore Amiga, there are several suppliers for new power supplies.

I see all this work to build new retro ISA sound cards, but what good is a retro soundcard if you can’t power it?

Computer Reset Build + Full Height Hard Drive Showcase Adlib clone works perfectly fine with ATX to AT adapter 😀
