How does that work?

On my current install I’ve noticed I can read a 128GB drive from within Windows 98 SE, installed on the secondary IDE port on the mobo.

Is there anyway to create a >8GB partition and install Windows 98 on it? So far when I’ve tried I’ve had the Windows 98 setup process complain about compression present or a bad sector and end the install.

I’m using an SD2IDE device if it matters.

No. You need to make the boot partition with 98 <=8GB and then you can add a second partition after the fact.

Alternatively you could use an option ROM like the xtide universal BIOS to bypass the BIOS limit all together
