How can one get a standard 486 ( 168-pin CPU ) to work in a 169-pin Intel overdrive socket ?

So the ODP somehow will disable the onboard CPU

Here's info on how-to if your board does not have a special jumper to do so:
487SX 169pin socket: any way to use a normal 486DX2 there?

Pull the socket pin B14 low via ground this connects to the UP# pin on the 486SX.

Then you can use normal 486DX or DX2 CPU without need to buy a overdrive 487 which is expensive.

Do you mean to pull out of socket B14 ?
