Greetings everyone!
First post here, so quick presentation:
My day job is that of a Software Developer, but I love collecting/repairing old hardware, building homebrew computers and design simple boards.
I have a small collections of homebrew machines, and actually just completed a Micro8088 build with a 7-slot backplane filled with cards, not a single solder joint on there that I did not make myself!

Getting to the point, I ran into Groza's 386DX SBC (http://www.alexandrugroza.ro/microelectronics … sbmc/index.html, I think ALEKS is in this forum too), and fell in love with the idea of building it.
From what I see, there're still issues with DMA and maybe the mouse, but I wish to try it nonetheless. I'm slowly rounding up all the necessary components to build one.

One thing I can't recover is the BIOS image Alexandru used in his build: it was previosly available for download on that page, but it's now removed. I found a few dumps online that claim to be for the 82C495XLC chip, but I'd really like to reduce variables to a minimum, and get the same version he uses. The identification string reported on the page is: X0-0803-001276-00101111-080893-OP495XLC-H

Anyone has downloaded it and can share it with me?
Thanks

The BIOS string apparently seems to point to Jetway J-402B, according to one site full of AMI BIOS strings:

40-0802-001276-00101111-080893-OP495XLC-H: Jetway VL 486/5x86 Opti chipset up to 50Mhz

Check out this thread. maybe it will help you:

Yes PcBytes that appears to be closest...
X0-0803-001276-00101111-080893-OP495XLC-H where the -H is the KBC type, the important part is the 00101111-080893-OP495XLC-

Yep the .bin has been removed. Next closest I can find is this from Pred in 386 BIOS saves: Re: 80386 BIOS image collection
which is 40-081L-001343-00101111-080893-OP495XLC-F and uses an LT KBC...

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

Thanks! But that is exactly one of those I downloaded once I found that the original bios file was no longer available. Maybe I'll get lucky and ALEKS will notice the post. My account is too new to send private messages.

Uhm, not sure if the XL bios version mentioned in that thread could work, but I surely did not know the website linked in the thread that is full of bios dumps. Bookmarked for future use, thanks!

Edit: Actually, inside the OPT495XL.ZIP, the OPT495XLC is mentioned explicitly, so I'm a bit more optimist about this.

If you fail to find it, we have three bioses for that chipset in our database 😀 http://www.win3x.org/uh19/motherboard/result/?chipsetId=376

(and if you find it, we'd be interested to get it)
