How are you, mates?

I bought a second Pentium 3 1,4 Tualatin, cause the other one I have can die. ...

The one I received today is a Compaq Spare part, with an attached heatsink.

Pentium 3 Tualatin doesn't have the die exposed, so the risk to remove the heatsink is not high, I think....

Have you ever did this?

Heat is my friend in this case, I know, but I want to ask for someone who already did it.

Thank you.

Have a good weekend!

Guys, I did it.

It was so easy.

While working, The Pentium generated heat, and the heatsink became "loose", instead of how it was in my hands.

Then I used a hair dryer.

I'll post the pictures later.

Thanks for the pictures! I recently bought the same Compaq 1.4GHz for my Tualatin setup but could not get the heatsink to come off, good to know that it might move with some heat 😀

I was stuck using the heatsink it came with, which might work, but it's pretty basic and hard to mount a fan to.
