Recently I've acquired a Jetway J-TX98 motherboard with the SiS5598 chipset (with integrated graphics). The seller left the Cyrix (83MHz fsb) CPU and pc100 SDRAM on and gave me a (copy of) the manual. I mounted a heatsink/fan and made a VGA adapter and gave it a shot.

All of the jumpers were in the right position for the unofficially supported fsb, but somehow the system was unstable in the regular benchmarks.

Setting the voltage from 2,9 to 3,0 volts solved this, and all is rock stable now (and by the touch the heat sink is pleasantly warm at the base). But the voltage increase still bothers me.

Has anybody else had this sort of issue with their Cyrix CPU?
Could this one be remarked?
Was this even a thing on the Cyrix MII?

Stuck at 10MHz...

Yeah I have a PR233 that isn't stable at default voltage (depends on the motherboard). My PR333s are ok though. I think it is a pretty common Cyrix issue. They were always pushed to their limit.
