Greetings Vogons. I need your help!

I'm trying to build my first Windows 98 SE retro gaming rig and I need to build a Dr DOS boot disk so that I can flash my BIOS. I've got a USB floppy disk reader (see floppy_reader) but every time I try to create a boot disk I get this awful error (see error).

For example:
"Disk error on track 22, head 1
Floppies do not match"

At first I thought my brand new box of floppies must have been damaged somehow, so I bought a new box but the same thing happened to those as well! I have also tried multiple version of Dr DOS and it happens every time.

I am using WinImage for running the image file.

Could it be that my floppy reader is the problem here? Should I buy a new one?

Thanks in advance for the help and advice.

Cheers,
Toby.

You're probably better buying an old computer with built-in floppy drive.
Funny thing is I own an IBM thinkcenter I bought online with 3.1Ghz processor and it has a floppy drive.

But if you have to use a USB one, make sure you have the drivers installed and that they are working for the OS. And make sure there's enough power to the floppy drive.

I recently bought a brand new USB DVD drive that I use with an older generation PC but I have to plug TWO usb cables in to give the drive enough power.
