I picked up a Gateway TBR3 500 (I believe that's the model number) off of FB marketplace recently and have pressed it into service as a DOS machine (yay ISA port.) POST indicates the current BIOS as 4W4SB0X0.15A.0013.P08.

I believe I've found an updated BIOS (or at least the filename I'm looking for...) via http://gateway2000.com/support/product/driver … /4W4SB0X0.shtml.
Would this BIOS be appropriate for it? http://vogonsdrivers.com/getfile.php?fileid=1473&menustate=0

Are there any type of BIOS hacks or alternate BIOS out there that unlock additional features? I didn't know if that was a thing. The options I can set with the Gateway BIOS are pretty limited.

The latest BIOS update for your board (4W4SB0X0.15A.P14 from May 2000) is this one - http://vogonsdrivers.com/getfile.php?fileid=1517&menustate=0

Fair use/fair dealing exception

*EDIT* - Scrub that - just realised they all seem to link the same BIOS version, so either would do

Intel themselves supplied Gateway motherboards during this era so you can probably use the non OEM motherboard's update if you really wanted.
I'm not aware of any hacked bios but then I've never looked into it either.

What you have a Intel BX motherboard. It may not be the fastest or feature rich BX board, but its stability and reliability is second to none.

As there don't appear to be any 86A coded BIOS updates for the Intel WS440BX, I guess the closest would be for the original SE440BX, but it's hard to say if these would work properly or improve on the latest Gateway P14 one.
