Over at r/vintagecomputers on Reddit, a user posted a pic asking “Anyone know what this thing is?”

Spoiler

As you can see from the link, it’s some kind of luggable unit, turned on its side. But the mystery is what is it exactly?

The case looks pretty well constructed of what appears to be die-molded plastics. So its probably not a custom job. Two half-height(?) 5-1/4” floppy mounted vertically. Looks like a 9” screen. Bottom left under the lip looks like a contrast or brightness control. The port next to that looks like maybe a male-DB25?

Possibly an early DOS or CP/M unit? Maybe a generic build-your-own PC in a luggable case? Maybe a 3rd-party kit for rehousing of another system like an Apple II or Commodore?

My guess is that it's by LSI Computers . The M3 (M-Three ?) and M4 (M-Four ?) looks a lot like it .

EDIT : Pretty sure it's an M3 (M-Three ?)
