I want to build a system to run DOS, Windows 3.1 and /or Windows95.
Heart of the build will be an AMD k6-III 450.
I also own a Gforce 2 MX400, 64 mb that is pci.
I also have 2 smaller ssd drives, 8GB and 16GB.
Have an adapter that that connects Sata to IDE.
Need some input on possible socket 7 motherboards for this build. Bios needs to support LBA mode I believe.
Any suggestions or ideas?
Thanks,
Mark

Something with a VIA MVP3 chipset would probably fit your bill.
Might want to have a mechanical drive handy just for swap space, or as a bootloader just in case.

Life isn't long enough to re-enable every hidden option in every BIOS on every board... 🙁

You will want an ATX board, unless you like to tinker a bit extra for your build.
I think any ss7 board should be what you're looking for (any ss7 with AGP and 100MHz FSB, just to be clear).
You will also need a case with available external drive slots.

Whats missing in your collections?

Look for VIA Apollo MVP3 or Ali Aladdin V boards. For example Asus P5A, Gigabyte GA-5AX and MSI MS-5169 are quite popular for ATX build. Late revision is usually better.
