How do you measure the size of computer case fans ?
Is it from screw hole to screw hole ?
Do you measure on a diagonal or straight across ?

Straight, from side to side, in centimeters.

...and if you only have the holes and want to determine what fan to get, measure the center of two holes of the same side. You can deduce the fan needed from that, for example if it's 7.6cm then you need an 8cm fan for this place.

Just measured three 8 cm fans; the distances of their screw holes are all 7.2 cm.

Some while back I was gonna improvise a VESA mount out of the frame of a 100mm fan with busted blades.... you can guess how far that went. 🤣

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.
