Hi, i have a sound blaster live in both my Windows 98SE and my Windows XP machines.
By installing some Audigy VXD drivers in Windows 98SE you can get EAX3 working on that card (as seen on phil's videos) but that machine isn't up to the task of running GTA Vice City and similar games, it has a Voodoo3 only.
So, i've been looking on a way to do the same thing but for my XP build.

is there a possibility? Thanks.

EAX 3 requires at least the EMU10K2 chip which was introduced on the original Audigy
and I guess the Audigy Vale and it's CA0106 software based equivalent.

As the SB Live! only has a a EMU10K1 EAX2 is as good as your going to get.

You can go newer of course. Audigy 2 ZS is the last card that supports Win98 even though its an XP era card.

slap either an audigy 2zs or x-fi extreme music in your xp machine both can be had for very cheap if u go x-fi then u are good all the way upto eax5

a live is probably fine for most 98 games although u can do an audigy 2zs in there as well but not x-fi
