Hi Bernkastel. I came across your post while looking for another problem. I don't know or if your BIOS will allow to do it, but did you disable the HDD there? I have a 486 with two internal HDDs, if I try to boot from the XUB (LAN or XT-IDE card) with the HDDs enabled in the BIOS the result is the same you explain, if I disable them I can boot from the CF.
