I currently have a 3Com 3c905B-TXPXE EtherLink XL PCI 10/100 Ethernet Adapter in my system. But, after watching this video, I want to play around with XTIDE Universal BIOS. This video walks through using a network adapter. This requires an NIC with socket for a flash ROM. I'm happy with the my 3COM, I just want a model with the socket. After looking at EBay listings, it appears that there are two models (3C905B-TXNM and 3C905-TX). Can anyone explain the difference between these? Thanks in advance.

Just in case it's relevant, this is what I currently have in my system:
P3 1 GHz
256MB RAM
2 x Kingston 120GB A400 SATA 3 SSD (SATA in RAID)
TYAN S1854 Trinity 400
nVidia FX 5200 (AGP)
Promise Supertrak FastTrak S150 TX4 4-Port SATA RAID Card (PCI)
3Com 3c905B-TXPXE EtherLink XL PCI 10/100 Ethernet Adapter (PCI)
2 x Voodoo 2 12MB (PCI)
Sound Blaster Live 5.1 (PCI)
Yamaha OPL3 Sound Card (ISA)

I can't tell you the difference between the cards, but they will both be good cards. Any card based on 3Com 3C905B will be widely recognised/compatible with pretty much whatever you throw at it.

See my graphics card database at www.gpuzoo.com
Constantly being worked on. Feel free to message me with any corrections or details of cards you would like me to research and add.
