Enter the BIOS setup menu, go to Storage configuration, and change the ATA/IDE configuration from "Enhanced" to "Compatible/Primary SATA+PATA". After doing so, the SATA SSD will behave like a good old fashioned PATA HDD.

Nothing else needed for sound. You only need to plug a cable if you want "legacy" analog CD Audio (probably not on this type of system - though it depends on what games you want to try out and how old they are).

Regarding the Audigy 2 ZS in particular, make sure that you switch to VXD drivers, instead of WDM (which is the default).
