hello folks!

I'm trying to get working a Promise EIDE2300 but am having trouble getting it to work. Symptoms are it not proceeding past the point of prompting to run in Turbo, Fast, or Normal mode. I've tried every memory address, IRQ, disabling LBA, disabling the bios driver, multiple IDE drives, multiple IDE cables, and removing every other card from the system. It just sits there...

I was curious, does anyone have a BIOS dump of version newer than 3.2?

Or, is there some sort of custom BIOS that would work on it?

So you tried to disable the card's BIOS but the message still came up? That seems like it must not have really been disabled then, like maybe you used the wrong jumper setting to try to disable it. Maybe try removing the ROM chip and see if the card works then as a generic multi-I/O card.

BTW, can an EIDE2300 card use the same BIOS as an EIDE2300-Plus ?
