Hi everyone, I wanted to upgrade my machine and reading some posts it seems that the pentium III-M 1333mhz is the best option. I read it can be found in toshiba portege 3500 but only in BGA which is not accessible to take and use it to upgrade. Do you guys know of where I can find that cpu or a laptop that may contain it?
Also as a side note, is it true the was an engeneering sample of a 1.4ghz p3-m? Cuz that would be sick. I dont think Intel would confirm this themselves tho

I had a Dell Latitude C400 with 1.33GHz P3 for a short time before giving it to my brother. Not sure if the chip was soldered. Performance was underwhelming since it was heavily memory bandwidth limited.

Seems at least one sSpec exists for the 1.33 in mPGA. Might be it only shipped in oem systems, though?

Please use the "quote" option if asking questions to what I write - it will really up the chances of me noticing 😀

True some Dell Latitude C400 came with 1.33ghz P3 but they all seem to be soldered as well. Thing is, if the BGA cpu could be desoldered and added some pins to it so that it could fit the socket, it would be cool. But I dont think the connectors align with the socket and it would almost impossible to solder so many pins without any garantee of getting it to work.
Not sure if the PGA version was only shipped in oems but it would be interesting to find the models it came with
