Hi all

I have repaired the above but CMOS settings aren't saved. I have replaced the battery of course, but the negative terminal isn't connected to anything? I have checked details/pics on this website but no joy. The negative side of the battery has no obvious connection. Jumper setting are to retain CMOS

Any ideas? Or I'm I going mad!

Usually the negative side just connects to the ground plane.
If the connection has failed for whatever reason you should be able to just solder a wire from the battery to any ground point on the board.
Or am I misunderstanding you completely?

No that's great!al makea sense now. I guess the acid has affected the ground - I'll test it - thx!

Its fixed! The ground was eaten away so I jump wired it and bingo!
