Hello,

Can you recommend a PCI controller card with SATA connectors?
I would like to use it with an older Pentium 3 computer because I don't have any functional PATA HDDs.
In such a case would I have any problems concerning compatibility since this is an older 815EP chipset motherboard?
Thanks in advance!

Any of the TX2 models should be good.

You want to get a controller that has a BIOS EEPROM on it for booting. The cheaper ones without the BIOS usually cannot be used to boot unless you can find another way to jam that option rom into your system.

Highlighted chips is the EEPROM

I have good results with SIL3112/3512 and SIL3114/3514 cards, although BIOS on them must be right version for 9x driver to work right and it can take some effort to reach that point.
