Hi All,

Did anyone ever use any of the lower clocked K6-2s? E.g 200-266MHz?

It seems there is a 200MHz version which I'd like to get my hands on, but not found one. I've got a 233MHz but not 200MHz.

It's interesting as the normal K6 went up to 300MHz. So I am wondering why the 200 or 233MHz versions exist.

Vertex out of the computer shopper sold a PCCHIPS M571 multimedia Pc with your choice of CPU mid 1998

I considered a k6-2-200 but ended up with a Cyrix MII-PR233 Because it was over $150 cheaper.

The entry level k6-2’s were all almost the same price so it didn’t make sense to buy slower than 300mhz

K6-2 series start with 233MHz.
But there was a K6 with 166MHz!

Ah thanks for the link, very interesting! I've got an IBM PR233 here, it runs at 200MHz so actually a PR266 in Cyrix terms. Planning on benchmarking all the 200MHz CPUs, just missing the K6-2 200!

I had them all: 166,200,233 and 300.
Intel was still a better choice @same clock.

PC#1 Pentium 233 MMX - 98SE
PC#2 PIII-1Ghz - 98SE/W2K
