I have had this motherboard for over 3 years now and I wanted to upgrade it to 1GHz for some time. I originally wanted to use an actual Slot 1 PIII CPU, but this being 100MHz FSB made that a very expensive proposition. Slot 1 1GHz PIII with a 100MHz FSB are a lot harder to find and command a much higher price. I finally just decided to go with a 1GHz Socket 370 PIII with a 100MHz FSB and use a Socket 370 to Slot 1 adapter. It's the same CPU, just in a difference package so the end result is the same. I made sure the Socket 370 to Slot 1 adapter supported PIII Coppermine CPUS as the majority of these adapters only supported Socket 370 Celeron CPUs. I am really happy with the result and I now have the Slot 1 PIII system that I have wanted for such a long time.
