So I've aquared an nice hybrid motherboard, it's a FIC 4386-VIO a.k.a. Vobis HighScreen 486 Universal board, my plan is adding an Am386dx-40, why might you ask?
First of all because I probably can, so why not?
Second; it's just cool to do this and to have such a system.
Third; it would save me space , having a nice 386/486 hybrid system, sure I need to remove the (adding another very cool factor) Blue Lightning DX2 50 GP CPU and change some jumper settings, but hey, I can if I want to.
Forth; didn't mention it's just cool to do this, right?
But before I start this frankenstein experiment, I wanted to know if anybody has done this before (with a motherboard)?
I checked the mainboards with and without the Am386dx-40 soldered on and couldn't find a difference:
Without Am386dx-40 CPU
With Am386dx-40 CPU
