Hi,
I'm trying to find the windows 2000 driver for this PCI modem WS-5614HSMG - it appears in windows 98 as a Conexant PCI modem enumerator.

I can find the only website on archive.org (where I got the win 98 drives from) but the NT and Win2k links just fail when I try and download
https://web.archive.org/web/20011204185829fw_ … tw/Downlond.htm

Googling brings up those crappy driver sites that are malware only.

Does anyone have any idea where I can find the driver?

Thanks!

The win2k file fails because wayback had a 1024k size limit back then. I grabbed it (first 1024k) and compared contents and some info in the .inf's and it is a HSF SoftModem, Aopen and Dell also used them...
Try one of the files below....I would try the small 56_HSF one first.
If it does not work then try the other but instead of running a Setup EXE, Go in device manager > update driver (there should be a "unknown device" with a flag.,
point to one of the .inf's and see if it works, if not try the next .inf. Good luck and let us know if one or the other works.

added: if the above do not work you can dig around here: https://web.archive.org/web/20001001073649/ht … ips/conhsf.html
one of the others may work. I grabbed the Jetway and Aopen.

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

I think SDI (snappy driver installer) worked with Win2k.

It claims it does on the website, but trying it on Win2k SP4 in both Win2K server and Professional - doesnt work for me (same packages work in windows 10)

"I tested R439 on Windows 2000 5.00.2195 and it started ok.

R444 failed to start
R454 starts
R468 starts
R496 starts
R513 failed to start

R513 included updates to the GCC compiler and the Boost library. One of those two has killed it for Win 2000. I see that GCC supports XP and up and I suspect that is the culprit. Frankly, I can't see us going back to try to support Win2000 so if Win2000 is imperitive for you, you should stay with R496."
