Hi!, Regardless of how you proceed with your Ultimate Build I'd treat that mach64 with extra care... I don't think they are so common anymore and I'd consider it a very nice card to have, if only for the scarcity of it (at least in some/many regions).

Mach64 PCI is scarce?

ah, i didn't know that. The card has been in there since day 1, I don't think I'd change much now as it seems that if I wanted something mmx based I wouldn't get all that much more performance with my ordinary socket 7. it's good enough for mid 90's things and the card seems to do fine with all DOS too. I don't use it much, so hopefully will be around for many years

IMHO, it is, at least in many regions.
And there where you can find it, there will probably be 20 Trident, 15 S3 and 15 SIS cards for every Mach64, so it is a card I wouldn't just throw away.
But then again, it's just my opinion.

My ultimate P-MMX is the one that clocks to 4 3.5x100 on an agp board. Two of my 200s seem to be able to run stable with a slight overvolt to 3,0v and some copper based socket A cooler. Tested on my pc chips m577 test board, 64MB pc100 sdram, Nvidia geforce mx440 for a few hours and running smooth 😀
This definitely pokes the K6-2 😀

(Edit ofc no regular MMX will do 4x multi, and it's no tillamook; got confused with the regular K6-2 @400)

Maybe your thinking Mach64 VLB?
Only last month I put a PCI card on ebay for £1 and got a grand total of £1.20!

I missed out on this era going from a 486 to a PII but so many games listed a 200MMX as minimum requirements.
Not sure why but like the DX2/66 before it made the hardware seem kind of special, even if those same games were actually painful on that system.
It's also missing from my currant line up. I've a 486 then Slot 1 with Voodoo 2. Curranty the PPro is filling the gap but I still feel like I need a MMX with a Voodoo 1

I actually like the looks of those cards. No I never thrown any out.
Could be, there were usually many Rage cards around as well. And the Mach64 PCI was definitely way more common than the Mach64 VLB was.

Early Mach64 with external DAC are indeed scarce.

The earliest PCI graphics cards were really something else. They tend to look archaic even when compared to older PCI graphcis cards like Virge.

Common PCI Mach 64 - CT*, VT, VT2
Uncommon PCI Mach 64 - CX, GX

*Some models are uncommon, like ASUS video/sound combo.

I must be some kind of standard: the anonymous gangbanger of the 21st century.

On which board does a 4x multi work with p1 mmx?? Never ever seen that. And a stable 300 MHz is an achievement, never seen 400. Tested multiple 200 an 233mhz cpu's and only a couple would even boot a 3x100.. very few were stable.

asus tx97-e, 233mmx, voodoo1, s3 virge ,sb16
asus p5a, k6-3+ @ 550mhz, voodoo2 12mb sli, gf2 gts, awe32
asus p3b-f, p3-700, voodoo3 3500TV agp, awe64
asus tusl2-c, p3-S 1,4ghz, voodoo5 5500, live!
asus a7n8x DL, barton cpu, 6800ultra, Voodoo3 pci, audigy1

Wait a sec, you right ofc... No 4x on a MMX, max 3.5. then it is 350MHz... And the regular fit K6 2 runs as 400. Got confused I guess...
