I'm currently struggling to get my FirePro 2260 PCI video card working correctly on a XP system. It's a PCI video card with two fully-capable DP1.1 ports.

Drivers that I could find simply don't appear to work correctly with my monitor, ROG XG27UQR, on Windows XP.

Should note that there's nothing wrong with the cables used here, as when booting into Linux (EndeavourOS for example), the card can output 1440p/60Hz and 1080p/120Hz perfectly fine. It's a driver issue.

-x- Official driver package (8.911.3.4)
Does not work at all. I get a black screen (OSD saying NO SIGNAL). Booting to VGA mode will give me an initial 640x480 screen (from the default system driver, as CCC would refuse to run in this state citing unsupported driver), but selecting any mode will irreversibly lead to a black screen, as it switches to using the ATI driver which gives me no output at all.
I cannot uninstall the driver from Safe Mode. Must boot into VGA mode (which is considered normal mode) in order to perform uninstall, as the uninstaller relies on a detection driver that refuses to load in Safe Mode.

-o- Driver package found at Phil's Computer Lab (8.583)
I can get a screen output, though very blurry. OSD reads 1440x576, but that particular resolution is not available in the settings.
Only by setting DP version to 1.1 can I get a proper output. Setting it to any other version (1.2, 1.4) will result in the blurry, actually 1440x576 output. I do not want to change my monitor's DP version, as it is shared by some other systems that are fully capable of using DP 1.4.
CCC will give me a "DisplayPort Lower Setting Applied" warning every time I try changing resolution. I can only set up to 1080p/60Hz as a result of this warning, even with DP version set to 1.1 (which allows proper output).

Where can I find other driver versions to try? Googled and even DuckDuckGo'd everywhere but no good results... Most results seem to point me to Vista/Win7 drivers...

PS: I'm not sure which variant I got... GPU-Z tells me that my card is 1002:95CE/1002:2343, but all of the video BIOS I found on TPU related to this card read 1002:95CF/1002:2143 which appears to be a Dell variant. Drivers do correctly recognize my card as a FirePro 2260, and the google search results I get appear to confirm that both 95CE and 95CF are indeed for FirePro 2260.

Managed to find a partially working solution... at least I could get proper output, though still no higher refresh rates...

I just tried the 14.4 Legacy driver (14-4-xp32-64-dd-ccc-pack1.exe). This driver package is for older ones like HD 3000/4000 series, but it does not come with the necessary entry for the 2260 (95CE) by default so I have to mod the INF file to manually add it.

The modified driver has to be installed by hand, as the setup program still won't consider my card as compatible after modification (so it won't show me the option to install the driver, CCC and such). I also need to manually confirm during install, as it's obviously not signed due to the modification. With this driver, after reboot I can get proper output without having to downgrade my monitor's DP version to 1.1.

I haven't installed CCC yet, as I don't know how to manually install it in this case. Resolutions up to 2560x1440 can work correctly, but not high refresh rates such as 100Hz/120Hz (for 1920x1080). Although I can select a refresh rate higher than 60Hz from the Monitor tab of Display Settings by unchecking the "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display", it doesn't really work, as my monitor OSD still reads 1920x1080/60Hz.

I wonder if there's any community modded driver package that would make everything work correctly, including 1920x1080/120Hz. Perhaps I should use a third party tool for configuring this video card... I can't remember if there were any good tool that could offer the same if not better features than stock CCC.

EDIT: I guess this is it. High refresh rates on an ATI GPU is unlikely for XP. Turned out this thread's OP has met the same issue on a 4890. I suppose the issue might be related to the monitor driver, since checking "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display" will exclude any refresh rate other than 60Hz even though the refresh rate is doable (listed when unchecked).

EDIT 2: High refresh rates most likely never worked correctly since day one as 120Hz/144Hz was hardly a thing when WinXP was still relevant. It's possible to attain 120Hz or even 144Hz with a nVidia card, but you need to manually specify the timings (like CVTRBv2), and this feature is exclusive to workstation (Quadro) cards.
