I have an Asus PCI/I-P54TP4 Socket 5 motherboard for 75, 90 and 100MHz Pentiums.

My understanding of these processors is they are nominally rated for 3.3V. However, the motherboard only has jumpers for 3.4, 3.5 and 3.6V.

More confusing is the motherboard manual under the speed selection refers to "P24C" (instead of P54C). My understanding is that P24C refers to DX4 processors, not Pentiums. I'm assuming this is just a typo or possibly some other Intel code reference?

At any rate, I'm wondering if setting this to 3.4V would be fine for a 75MHz or 90MHz Pentium processor.

If you look at the back of the CPU where the pins are, there should be a 3-letter code, such as 'SSS', 'VMU' or other variants (don't remember if this also applies to the goldtops, you probably need to check the processor spec for those I think). The first letter indicates which voltage range the CPU uses, either S=STD (3.135-3.6V) or V=VRE (3.45-3.6V).

So generally you can use 3.3-3.4V for STD and 3.5-3.6V for VRE, but each motherboard may be slightly different when it comes to the voltage options you have.
