I have an issue with installing Win98SE, it gets to Windows is copying files please wait..
Then it just stays there nothing?

I have FDISK
Deleted Partitions
Created a new Primary Partition
Formated C:

I set parameters in BIOS CDROM,C,A
Disabled Virus Checker

Removed all hardware except GFX card
Have PS2 Kb and mouse connected

Running PII-300MX
64k RAM [have more though took the others out in case]

Any ideas is driving me nuts, never had an issue like this before.

64k of RAM, you need 640. 😉
Of course you mean 64 MB.

Do a memory test, memtest86+ for example.
Does the floppy work? Or you could disable it in the BIOS. Maybe the setup looks for its existence.

🤣 sorry typo, I just thought of that when I went inside what I posted ; My mind thinks to much.
Have not tested MEM though had Windows 2000 on it previous and worked fine.
Floppy does work as I ran FDisk with it on Win98 Startup Disk and Formatted.
I will see what happens when I disable it - thanks.

After formatting c: drive use boot floppy disk to use " START WITH CDROM SUPPORT "

After type d: to enter cd drive and type setup

Yes I had tried that also, I might rip another disc incase it is the cd itself.

All good, delted into 1999 and grabbed a copy of 98SE. Worked fine, must have been a flatlined copy I had.
