If the chip is very old and you want to protect that fragile sticker, or you have encountered a fake ROM chip, you can try this method to determine the model of the ROM chip.

1. Select a ROM model in Xgpro at will, for example, select AT27C256, and then start reading the ROM chip, then the software will report an error, and at the same time will display Check ID is: 0x xx xx.

2. Find the InfoIC2Plus.dll file in the Xgpro installation directory, and open the file in hexadecimal form with UltraEdit, EmEditor, and WinHex.

3. Look for that Check ID in the file, you may find a lot, continue to search patiently, you will see some chip models.

4. What is the chip in the example?

No need to go digging through a binary when the minipro project has it in a nice xml file.
