I'm looking to install a backplane and 5x 300GB U320 drives. I'm wondering what the best choice of SCSI card would be. It needs to have NT3.51 drivers, but does not have to be bootable. It does need to support RAID5 in hardware.

That combination doesn't really make sense.
for U160 or U320 a PCIX system would be used, ie 64bit PCI.

I think you should stick to U2W or UW

Could you make some photos of the mainboard, riser cards & psu connectors please. Seems they're not so easily found on the internet.

Right to repair is fundamental. You own it, you're allowed to fix it.

any card made by adaptec will fit the bill.

ASC-39320A is a pci-x card. but i dont think that pentium 90 is going to allow pci-x cards. just look for the raid variant

can we assume this is a dick waving project?

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.
