Hey folks.

In an effort to improve the performance of games on my VFX1, I'm trying to find a better GPU than my current Trio64. While working with an APAC ST300A (S3 Trio3D chipset), I noticed some promising specs, but I cannot seem to verify if the feature connector on the card is actually enabled. I've run a utility (fcon.com was bundled with a VFX1 driver package) similar to what I'd use for the Trio64 to enable its feature connector upon startup, but I end up with a black screen over VGA after. I see a number of zero ohm resistor pads that look like jumpers l, yet only one is clearly marked as "JP5". I've found technical references for the Trio32/64 and ViRGE, but not the Trio3D.

My question is this: Does anyone have a manual, technical reference, or anything to help me determine what I'd need to look for to ultimately set this card to enable said Feature Connector?

Any and all help would be appreciated.

I'm looking to use VESA video modes, not VAFC, if that's what you mean.
