Hi everyone,

I've some issue to update my BIOS on an ASUS TXP4.

I've tried two versions of Award utility (aflash.exe and awdflash.exe, found on Internet), the first one managed to save the current bios of the MB, but the two programs don't see any flash memory when it comes to upgrade it. I've checked the jumper which prevent to write bios, it seems ok.

Any idea ? (which does not implies a mallet...)

Asus used a customized version of Awardflash called Aflash. I believe I used Uniflash when I upgraded the BIOS on my TXP4, but this version of Aflash should be the correct one if you want to try it.

Someone else had same issue here: BIOS update problem on ASUS P5AB
Yes Asus had it's own Award flasher for 486 and Pentiums. Think v2.21 is the last version and file date and internal says 2002...
here is my archive of 2.21 with readme.txt from asus ftp.

Hi all,

Good news ! With the modded bios found on retroweb (https://theretroweb.com/motherboards/s/asus-txp4), the card is able to work with all my (super) socket 7 CPU, including the mP6 (iDragon flavor) !
