I purchased (quite affordably, actually) a 486-motherboard.
It is an MSI MS-4118, but the manual at the retroweb is not quite correct.
If you have a look at the manual you will see that it's different from the uploaded pic (seems to be a similar board to mine).
Just a few differences:
- JP1 not present or is located elsewhere
- No viable documentation for J1 (manual states 3-pin, it's 5pin on the board). Also located right next to the keyboard connector - PS2 mouse2?
- Bios-chips is elsewhere situated -> the lowest ISA-slot is 8bit, not 16bit.

-> is someone able to de-link MS-4118 ver2 from the Frontier industrial ISA486GSi?

Anyone happen to have the correct manual? MS-4118 ver:2.

I will take a bios dump when I can verify that it's in full working order.

Right-o.
Finally got some ram and made some trace repairs.
I'd like to use an external battery pack, but I'm a bit at loss how to connect it.
The ISA486GSi (quite similar, but not exact) states the following:
- External battery J3 pins 1 & 4
- Battery type select internal. J3 pins 2 & 3 closed (this is how it came to me)
- Battery type select external, J3 Closed - wtf? 😀

Any ideas how to connect an external battery?
There was 5V present on pin 5 when powered on. Maybe use a 4,5V pack?
