Just IBM stuff at the moment..
IBM PS/2 keyboard

Ohh, and a complete IBM AT.
11 years later and I can officially say I don't think I'm missing anything anymore.
🤣!
I own too many computers to count.

Well,
During my time in high school I had an old Ford van and I started a scrap business. I collected a LOT of computers in that span of time. Probably 200+ computers. Lots scrapped (rusty, destroyed, non-working.. salvaged what I could...)
Sold a lot on eBay, too.. Still have enough computers to keep me busy until I die.
Oh, and in that time I DID find a complete PC/AT and a 8514 VGA monitor. 🤣.

wow, quite a pile of PCs, having a scrap business like that is dangerous for a collector 😀 still, you managed to get a lot of options for choosing what to rescue

I sometimes debate picking up either a Voodoo 2 or a Voodoo 5, but I don't use my retro stuff often enough to justify it.
I also occasionally debate getting an SB Pro 1, but I would feel bad taking it away from someone who would value it more, whereas it would almost certainly just end up sitting on a shelf at my place.

I d like to have once again Teac CDR 6x SCSI burner. Few months ago I saw it on eBay for 50 €, but decided not to buy as it is to expensive for such old technology.

I can honestly say there's nothing 'missing' from my collection. I have a pretty diverse collection beginning with the pentium classic era and with core2 stuff at heaven's gates of retrodom, I've kept a few of the more interesting pieces I've encountered. Anything older than P-classic, if I find a good piece I usually regift it, as stuff older than that doesn't really excite me. I've got plenty of 3dfx stuff...plenty of rare CPU / motherboard configs (dual CPU has always been my 'trademark').
I work in e-waste management....it's amazing what people throw away....so I take my collection as it comes; when I find an item worthy of adding to it. I really don't have any specific 'goals'....just a love for preservation & restoration.
If you tolerate this, then your children will be next.

Sorta tempted... Compaq with issues is priced reasonably in not quite local but nearish market.
Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.

So some of you have very nice collections of hardware, computers, games, monitors, software and all those things...but what is you feel missing in your collections? And I don't mean really rare stuff like the Socket 4 Pentium Overdrive (but please do tell if you do have such uncommon items 😁 ) but stuff one could arguably say any collector should have in his collection (or had in his collection).
I'll start:
My collection happens to be mostly hardware and I have tons of that stuff laying around. Motherboards, graphics cards, AT towers, literally hundreds of items. I even got a couple harder to come by items like a Cyrix 5x86 133 feipoa kept reminding me about 😜
But some items are missing from my collection, and here's a small list:
I haven't got a single AMD K5 processor. Not even one!
I don't have any Socket 423 motherboards
I don't have a single Slot A motherboard
And I don't have anything related to Roland, nothing 🙁
And also missing is a copy of Windows XP 64-bit
I do have an Insite floptical drive but none of it's disks
I have somekind of large IBM optical disks but none of it's drives 😵
Edit: I forgot to mention I never got around to getting a USB LS-120 drive and am also missing a USB floppydrive that's basically a standard floppydrive in an external housingSo what do you feel is missing in your collections? This can be anything computer related and doesn't have to be hardware, it could be a game or a program you've been looking for for years, just to name something.
Lets hear it! 😁
Same! No 423 (there's one with a P4 1.3 listed for $100, way too expensive but that cpu is interesting), slot A or K5. No tetrium cpus...
I've got:
- MT-32 and SC-55 MK1 but nothing to connect them to.
- Two V2 SLi setups (PIII 750s), but don't dare using them cards due to no additional cooling.
- Amiga 1200, but no boot disks. Sat in that state since purchase 6 years ago.
- No Amiga CD32 or Atari Jag. Prices have tripled in just a year so they're lost causes.
The most annoying though:
- Plastic bits and bobs for ThinkPads. 2 of 3 missing HDD covers, one could love a refreshed upper shell, one in need of a new keyboard. There is nothing available. Only complete laptops, with pricing thereafter.
- Chargers - especially for those 3/486 machines with their own special connectors.
- PSU's. Have 10ish pc's in parts, now focusing 775 era as they can be had for $5... except those $40 PSUs.
- Software gone to defunct sites.
Current main: Inspiron 8100, Tualatin 1133, 512MB, GF2 Go, 1600x1200, dualboot 98/XP.

I've seen 3d printing for replacement plastic parts but when a charger fails that's a different thing, the connector and the specific voltage etc, i can imagine all kinds of dubious constricts with bench power supply and 'parts' 😀
Hardware? So much, but I don't really need it at this point, as I have little interest in period config hardware, when current hardware and emulation options suffice. Software, not much, thanks to GOG/STEAM and "other places" supported by kind folk, who are generous with their old CD-ROMs and Floppy Disk collections.

A 9800XT in original box. Its been my holy grail for 15+ years. I have found numerous ones and everything under the sun has gone wrong with each one in the process. One time an ebay seller sent me a NIB x850XT which is also super cool, but they sent the 9800XT to another buyer and they refused to send it back!!!! Another time, I found a great one for a good price, and USPS LOST it, the only time I've ever had a lost package. Found another one and it came heavily used and dirty, not like the pictures. Countless others lost to missed auctions, extreme prices, etc. It truly feels like a curse, especially since I have all sorts of other crazy and rare stuff in my collection. That darn 9800XT though, my unicorn, my Eleanor....one day.
