Are there other games that are similar to the Diablo series in terms of look, feel and/or playstyle? Doesn't have to be fantasy.
- you play as a character, perhaps whos attributes you initially choose whether by selecting a class or setting stats
- the character "levels up" and develops skills
- you find loot to upgrade your character
- you follow quest chains
- has a simple interface and is easy to play
- isn't plastered with eye candy and excessive menus
- if possible, can be played over a lan
- has a sense of history or exotic location
- preferably an orchestral soundtrack
I realise this may seem a daft question. I'm hoping that somebody will remember playing something and thinking it's a bit like Diablo [or vice versa], rather than trying to identify something from the above list which I'm sure could describe a huge number of games.
I've got NWN, Hellgate London and I've finally abandoned WoW, so no need to list those.
