I am curious - does anyone have any experience with Lian-Li cases? Are they worth the money?

Absolutely. I wont buy anything else unless there is no other option. I've been a believer for about 8 years. I put my p4 netburst into the 2100 case. the damn thing cost $350 but it was SILENT. I had huge loud 120mm fans on the cpu and the foam surround made it nigh silent. The build quality puts everything else to shame.

looks like this:

i still use the case to this day. I have my dual netburst xeon setup in it and it keeps even 2 cpu's quiet. I have a V300 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?It … N82E16811112113 for my sister's micro atx dual cpu setup. and I run a cheaper model PC-7B http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?It … N82E16811112099 for my dual socket A voodoo 5 setup.

The old adage is true, you get what you pay for.

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

If you are a case collector then yes- very few cases match lian-li's quality and attention to detail. I'm lucky to own this:
3 generations of obsolete Intel hardware

Before you decide though, there are a few other premium cases that are similar to lian-li and well worth taking a look at, e.g. CM- Praetorian, Wavemaster, ATCS840, Silverstone- TJ-07, 09, Thermaltake Shark.

I bought a Lian Li PC-7FN for my main machine recently, the quality is excellent, its easy to work on, and it was actually cheaper than a lot of other high-end PC cases from the likes of Thermaltake, Antec, Coolermaster etc, and I think it looks a bit more tasteful too.

I mainly wanted an Aluminium case because I live near the beach and after a couple of years my case goes rusty - I haven't had it long enough to see any effects yet but here's hoping.

So far, pretty happy with it, will definitely buy another one.

If you are squeamish, don't prod the beach rubble.
