If you have a non-k CPU there really isnt anything wrong with the B75 chipset, it works pretty well but slightly slower to the Z77 chipsets, but doesn't overclock well.
Just one drawback.
Socket 1150 on June.
Good work Intel!

If it will be as expensive as 2011, that is not a drawback for now 😀
Agreed it will be expensive, and chances are it wont have a night and day performance increase, those days are gone sadly.
Rather get a good motherboard now, and a few months after 1150 is released get upgrade to a higher socket 1155 CPU when the prices hit rock bottom.
Prices will probably not hit rock bottom, as they never did with socket 775. The CPUs just disappeared. It essentially superseded by socket 1156. Which was also superseded by socket 1155. And of course let's not forget socket 1366 which lasted like what, a year and a half?
Socket 1150 will be the mainstream/desktop replacement for 1155, 2011 is here to stay for a while longer, despite being replaced by another socket as well (I forget the name with so many sockets).
I'd say in about a year it will be hard to find 1155 CPUs on the retail market.
Fuck intel 😜
btw what is going on with chipsets for amd processors?
amd gfx cards support pci-e 3.0 but no chipsets supporting it.
it looks nvidia no longer supports amd, but amd doesn't do much either...
actually i don't even see any drivers for amd chipsets on amd site...
I wouldn't bother with AMD CPUs at the moment, no offence to any AMD owners.
A good comparision of the chipsets is found here:

My former Sandy Bridge Pentium G620, which I bought december 2011, is still at the same retail price now..

The middle-high tier processors dropped a lot here when the new socket was announced (Ivy 1155) ,got my processor (Sandy Xeon E32130) for half the price it retailed for from a shop clearing them out, still new boxed and sealed.
That is how it should be 😀. But not here. The i5 2500K is also still the same retail price as feb 2011. And that is an averaged price concerning all retail sellers (Netherlands, Europe). Two years: same price.

It's perfectly fine if your not into overclocking. My living room PC is built on the 'Asrock B75 Pro3-M' and it's been running flawlessly for the last 6 months now. They're great for budget builds as they're cheap to buy and still have plenty of features 😀.
Any news on new chipsets/processors supporting the upcoming DDR4?
got the latest news:
it will be EXPENSIVE.
also got the latest news about ddr4 ram:
it will be VERY EXPENSIVE 😀
don't need to know anything more about it for about 5 years 😀

I'm not even sure if the B75 supports CPU overclocking at all (maybe the base clock, but that's no good really). It won't be any slower than a Z77 board running the same CPU and memory at the same speeds 😉.
No raid support - useless for me, i like mine data and using mirror. Thats only thing i miss on that chipset.
