@Malik I agree with what you wrote, however, due to personal experience, I feel I must add something to that:
- Not all doctors/psychiatrists/therapist are necessarily friendly or emphatic
- Some of them have serious mental health problems themselves, probably due to long time contact/exposure to patients
- They know about form, but not necessarily about substance.
They have neither been living through certain situations themselves, nor did they take the medication themselves.
That's why, by contrast, a patient is himself his best doctor sometimes (again, sometimes).

Again, I'm not arguing. It's just that the professionals are human, too.
So it might be necessary to keep that in mind, if it turns out that the professional in question isn't a helpful person or makes things worse.

That doesn't mean, however, that all professionals are like that "bad" one.
- I just feel like I must mention that possibility, however.
It's rather hit and miss, I think, like finding friends. Some are a match for you, some are not. It's highly individual.
The relationship between doctor or therapist and patient is based on trust, after all.
That's how it should be, ideally, at least.

Oh well, I probably shouldn't write these lines here because it could demotivate people seeking professional help.
(Which is recommended, to get access to required medication alone.)

But on the other hand, I think I must simultaneously tell them about the small possibility of a negative experience.

Ok, long story short: Just because the professional makes you feel bad or make you responsibility for your own faults doesn't mean it's automatically true.
Some of them maybe simply don't understand you or your exotic hobbies, maybe.
So please don't despair, don't let yourself make feel miserable.

Ratger, if the professional makes you feel worse, consider getting a second opinion by someone else.

Maybe another professional or simply friends or other people with similar health issues.
This helps to get a greater picture on the matter.

And maybe, sometimes, all you need is someone who listens to your worries.
Someone you know who cares about it, if possible.
Really, don't underestimate the need to talk to someone about your problems/worries.
It can really make you feel better and assist the healing process.

PS: A few more words. Some people on the internet are wonderful beings, while others are trying to hurt others because they're being hurt themselves.
So don't please don't take every statement for real. They maybe don't even really mean what they're saying, if they say bad things.

@Jo22, thanks for your explanations. I agree with you. Not all (docs) are truly sympathetic towards their patients. And I would say upto 80% are not. Sad but true. Hard to see a doc who is not just working to make the most profit nowadays.

What I wished for him is, not to get wrong ideas from the wrong people. My previous suggestion was abruptly short and deservedly accrued criticisms.

(P.S. I myself came out from depression. And yes, I was under medication too. But it was not the medication that helped. But the strength of the mind - to think to myself that I'm not going to ruin myself because of my negative thinking. I'm not sure if God exists, but if God helped me, I would like to thank Him too.)

As if I didn't have enough to worry about, now I'm anxious about your sodium intake.

Life? Don't talk to me about life.

I am afraid that you are only permitted to eat items drawn by Andy Warhol (!!).

I have a concrete tip if you are feeling anxious. Practice mindfulness. It might sound silly but it's amazing how slow, deep breathing helps your body relax. I'm sure there are exercises on YouTube.

I think the all times best given advice is from the movie "Scent of a woman", when Al Pacino is going to New York with Chris O'Donnell, and before he goes, he took his cat Tomster, and told him : "Remember, when You're in doubt - F..k"!!!!! Is there any better way to get rid of anxiety? Please, let me know! 😀

I'll revive this thread because it seems like everyone has anxiety. And such a thread is more than welcome, I think. Delete this if I'm wrong.

How do you guys deal with stress nowadays? For me, guided meditation works. Also, video games, of course.

Faith in my case, i was a hardcore atheist for 14 years and i suffered from anxiety, oh boy i spent a long time studying philosophy at the time and i was at an impasse, my way of thinking was irrational to my own eyes, hence more anxiety and existential dread, one night i simply prayed after the worst anxiety of my life, not even 1 sec after i felt the warmest feeling enveloping me and the clearest sensation of being loved universally, i had to believe, there was no physical explanation only a metaphysical one and i even spent the subsequent week analysing the fact like the fully rational sceptic i was (and still kinda am) after that i got a degree in philosophy and theology (for shit and giggles i also got a Cambridge C2 degree in english) and if anything i became fully convinced and free from anxiety.
This also made all my passions feel more vibrant and meaningful.

Mostly distractions or something I can channel my anxiety through....

Going for hikes/walks.

Ranting

Working on stuff in the garage

Playing music/composing. (Mostly guitar and midi)....sometimes bawdy A.I. songs (suno/udio)

Playing videogames/messing with archaic computer stuff

I've stopped social media (mostly) and watching some YouTube stuff because it makes shit worse.

Politics, guitar people, and "life stuff" especially....

If I go there, it's going to be Space Quest Historian, Adrian's Digital Basement, or HPRshredder these days. Or I make my own vids, sometimes I rant on those (usually the Dragon Warrior).

Sometimes...sleeping, since I'm short on it most of the time these days

Anxiety, she's always there, her loyalty is unmatchable. Time is just passing by, there's work, charging batteries in between, weekends come and go like it was nothing. In free time, I read discussions on obscure topics, listen to catchy music tracks on repeat, play some games, go on shorter walks. It's a lonely existence. Some time ago I turned 30 years old, it's weird, feeling like life is just slipping away.

I've noticed a growing interest in using CBD to manage depression, and I'm curious if anyone here has tried it.

I've been exploring various options to manage my own depressive symptoms and considering CBD as one of them. I've read a few studies suggesting it might have antidepressant effects, but there's still a lot of ongoing research.

I've got an appointment at a private medical cannabis clinic, Releaf, so I'll see what they have to say. Hope something good will come out of this, because I'm willing to try anything.

As do most people my way of dealing with anxiety is probably unhealthy, usually it involves brute forcing myself forward because for me the alternative is allowing it to keep me from doing the things that allow me to take care of my family. Pushing the anxiety down and Fighting it. I don't recommend this! Get the mental health support you need!

I want my foreskin (prepuce) back too.

My mind surely wouldn't be as dark if they just left me be. What a backwards world that this still has to be discussed in 2024.

CBD helps me. Not a cure, but it helps with the symptoms.
But I'm for medical cannabis clinics, not self-treatments. These places can help people with real medical problems. And they know what you need and the dosage.

In the UK, there are several of these clinics, like Cantourage. If anyone's living in the UK, better read reviews about them before picking one.

Drink like a fish, eat pills, play old games with cheats.

I am aroused about any X86 motherboard that has full functional ISA slot. I think i have problem. Not really into that original (Turbo) XT,286,386 and CGA/EGA stuff. So just a DOS nut.
PS. If I upload RAR, it is a 16-bit DOS RAR Version 2.50.
