This is not really vintage computer gear, but holey cow, a $1000 extension cord/splitter. With 12 sold already!

The others were sold at $8.99. I bet they are out of stock, and instead of canceling the listing, they just jacked up the price to keep people from trying to buy it right now until more show up. That way they dont have to pay a new insertion fee later on.

Unfortunately this is actually the market price for Audioquest cables... 🙁 some on amazon are $13k for a hdmi cable.

I think some company is trying to "one up" Monster Cables with this stuff.

Hey, you probably get really good looking 1s and 0s with those AudioQuest cables as opposed to the ugly 1s and 0s that a generic HDMI cable can transfer! 😁

I find it hard to believe how such a company can remain in business, but I guess it takes only a small bunch of (really) stupid customers to earn considerable profit...

The Amazon reviews for these cables are hilarious.

Yep.. that's about what that company's trying to charge across the internet for their parts. Stupid BS.

This guy wants £2,000 for what he seems to think is a rare / antique computer, despite apparently reading the page that explains it's actually just a word processor and naming the listing incorrectly. Although he has paid attention to the 'original £13,000 price tag', he fails to acknowledge that it doesn't even work without the boot disk.

Here's a product in the realm of audio bullshit:
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/16-PC-HiFi-Power-Filte … VAAAOSwYaFWeNUE

Developed by Elfidelity in partnership with Studio Apexi this unique product of its kind brings HIFI response to the problem of "Noise" switching power supplies powering the vast majority of PC.

In absolute terms it's not a lot of money, but this isn't worth paying a red cent for.

And how exactly a bunch of random passive components soldered to a PCI board cleans electric interference? It must be the ultra bright LEDs 🤣 (not to mention the very professional "engrish"... ).
But we're talking about a product aimed at people who pays 1000's of $ for cables with strange topologies "because high frequencies flows better in an elliptical section" 😒 , so logic has nothing to do here.

Are those important-looking caps even connected to anything?

They might be powered by the PCI-Express slot and actually get power. But it's not physically possible for a pci-express slot to in any way what so ever connect to the onboard audio, or any other pci-express sound card in the system.

Literally the components on this card draw power from the system and otherwise do not physically connect to anything else in the computer.

They do nothing but light up and draw power.

About the only thing they could possibly do is create a controlled EM field. Which is what would "shield" the sound circuitry. Too long since I covered field theory in college 🙁 So, I can't even begin to dig into the numbers involved/required. To have any chance of doing anything, would have to sit between the PSU (and other EM generating units,) and whatever you are trying to shield. Also, need to have enough space between so that the shield "itself" wouldn't cause interference. Can't see how it could be anything more than a waste of money.

You're waaaaaaay over thinking this 😁

It's just some random chinese people that threw a bunch of components on a PCB that do absolutely nothing and then market it as if it does something.

Typical snake-oil salesman tactics.
