Well, a friend of mine (which is also a Mac user) are selling two sticks of 1GB Apple PC3200 DDR400 M9654G/A, for a very agreeable price. Physically, the RAM is just a "normal" 184-pin RAM --just like any PC RAM we see everyday.

My question is: will they work on PC? My friend said that the reason he's selling those is because he has upgraded to a MacPro workstation, and the RAM sticks don't work anymore on his new Mac. The question is: why? (doesn't FB DIMM work with usual DIMM sticks?)

I plan to buy those for my linux development PC (non-ECC mobo), but if you were in my shoes, would you buy those Apple RAM sticks?

Never thought this thread would be that long, but now, for something different.....

It is standard RAM that works in anything. Mac Pro uses DDR2. That's why.
