Usually when people are talking about dance anthems, they talk about I Will Survive (Gloria Gaynor), Another Chance (Roger Sanchez), or Billie Jean (Michael Jackson). However, "timeless" is a subjective term, so you may have your own songs that you classify as dance anthems.

Here's mine (in no particular order):
Rapture by IIO.
Hide U by Kosheen.
Manual by Carl Cox.
Dude Descending The Stairs by Apollo 440.
Played-A-Live by Safri Duo.
Saltwater by Chicane.
Flight 643 by Tiesto.
Warmth Reheated by Talismantra.
Jericho by The Prodigy.
Be Cool by Paffendorf.
Itchycoo Park by M People.
American Dream by Jakatta.
Naked & Sacred by Robert Miles.

@djp: I read this earlier today and shuddered because the tune was already a bit in my head. But I forced myself to not think of that and it went away. Later I drove with my family through town and the radio station I normaly listen to was only talking, talking ... so I switched stations and there it was: Karma Chameleon....

Am I the only one whose dance anthems include house and trance? Probably I should call them 'rave anthems' instead. 😖

@Dominus: 😁 well, it was the year of Orwell, and Culture Club was different, to say the least - "Karma Chameleon" was THE party song for a while (in my neighborhood - suburbia 😜 ). I really haven't latched onto a song for dancing to since!

How about the Soulside Mix version of Rapture? That one version is not exactly dance tune, but a very sexy downtempo indeed --always my favorite song whenever I do my GF. 😁
