And even now I still can't help but wonder: what differences it would make if 3dfx wasn't so stupid to lose deal with Sega? Where 3dfx would be today if it had provided the technology for the Dreamcast?

3dfx had its hands full with arcade machines already, i wouldn't think the dreamcast would launch them into supersuperstar status and make a difference to their late-2000 fate. It didn't for PowerVR, and they still remain the same minor position in the market today.
