The good news - Wing Commander Kilrathi saga is now available to buy on ebay.

The bad news - you'll need to have a chat with your bank manager before you buy it.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WING-COMMANDER-KILRATHI … A1%7C240%3A1318

Price: £250, that's about 270 Euro / US$375.

Considering that this lot -

went for just £132, and that's 185+ games, the aforementioned Wing Commander auction represents rather questionable value for money, IMHO.

For the (Aesop's) Wolf, the grapes were sour. For me, there are some shelf-wear on the box! 😁

I liked the Kilrathi Saga for Wing Commander I and II. It ran these games great, with an option to speed up or slow down the gameplay. However, I found the default speed to be just fine (a bit faster than the SNES WC1 game).

However, the WC3 version was crappy. It had SVGA mode, but when you got up close to ships, it would switch to a VGA mode and everything became pixelated. I never found a way to turn this off. So basically, I just use Kilrathi Saga for the Intro Movie, and to play WC1 and 2.

Overall, I don't think it was worth my $50 back in '96 to buy it, but then again, supposedly WC1 and/or WC2 are a bitch to get running properly in pure DOS, so maybe it was a good deal afterall.
