I bought a Gateway P5-133XL (Christmas edition) around that time-frame. It was my first Windows PC. I still use the machine today...with a different motherboard and upgrades, of course. The only thing I regret about the purchase, is that I reformatted the hard drive too quickly, and lost some of the unique software and "extras" that were factory pre-installed (I had not backed up like I should have). But on the positive side, the format got rid of some "junk" programs that had slowed the computer a bit. Those early "Win95" days were a challenge to keep your system from getting screwed up or getting the "Blue Screen o' Death" if you were a "Gamer" installing a wide variety of games.

Those were the Golden Days of PC clone companies. (it left a soft spot in my heart for Gateways...I'm typing this post on a NICE Gateway P-7805u laptop right now!)

Once you try retrogaming, you'll never go back...
