The price of these things sure went down fast! They were $1100 chips just a year ago! EACH!

The power of a 980X for THIRD the price. ^.^ For the record, I am replacing a pair of 2378's (2.4ghz quad cores)

@ more cores and 400mhz doesnt sound like much, but please take into account, that the HT links are the REAL upgrade. I'm going from 1ghz to 2.4ghz. And the memory controller goes from 2ghz to 2.4ghz. A very healthy upgrade if I do say so myself.

Part 2 is 16gb of ram. I've been using 667mhz ram @ 800 FOREVER. So I also got myself 8x 2gb 800mhz sticks of ram. I fully plan on running them at 1066. (yay for awesome motherboard!)

I'll post pictures once everything arrives. (hopefully soon, i'm literally shaking with excitement!)
