The thing about Linux is that it is already very difficult to get legitimate software to run instantly on all possible Linux configurations without some amount of persuasion on the part of the end user.

And on the flip side, it's already very easy for an end user to do horrible, horrible things to a Linux distribution in an attempt to install perfectly legitimate software.
